ABOUT ME
I am tirelessly curious about why and how we are the way we are. I began my creative path in the visual arts and communication, ending up in film and media.
Throughout my career the intersection has always been messaging. My intrigue peaks when I can utilize a creative platform to initiate change in social and political constructs, whether through narrative story-telling, documentaries, or commercial campaigns.
Telling stories about the people I see and know, but never see on screen, lights me up. My writing often imbues a wry whimsy; an echo of the tug of war between my rural upbringing and current urban palatability. Satire and social commentary. Things are funny because they are true. This is also why they are sad.
I mostly write about what keeps me up at night. A foreboding idealist. Slacks and a dress. I am far more melodramatic than I would like to believe.
My filmmaking efforts have taken me to Sundance, have won me Telly Awards, Official selection into multiple Oscar Qualifying Film Festivals, garnered Editors Pick at Ad Week… for more on all the blah blah, go to my press page.
Amaro. I do love Amaro, and marching bands! Note the explanation point. Percussive instruments make me cry. I need fables and allegories and folklore and myth. I save seeds. I pray to James Baldwin every night before bed, and even though I am certain I will never figure out the answer, that is exactly what gets me up every morning.
